When there’s an opening- a window of time when you know for certain, Pachamama is listening, what would YOU say?

What then would your prayers be?

Gratitude?

A request?

A prayer for a quality of being, in this mixed up world, like peace?

Or something material that you need help in manifesting?

Most of us in the civilised world, go through life trying to figure out what our goals are, what our hearts are desiring, or wishing we were another way inside. And trying to figure out through repetition or other means, how to manifest these. Gosh, I know it so well.

In my 20’s I spent so much time and money on trainings to help me figure out what I wanted, or ways to manifest. Sometimes they worked – and many times it felt like something was missing. I had a hollow feeling – even feeling a little depressed that something was missing. And in all of that, not once did I stop to consider my environment or  community and how it all fitted together within me. I really was so disconnected from nature ( a definition I know now) . Defining the Universe from my mind- but not really aware that my body was one in the cosmos with nature, nor that I was carrying around heavy energy, that was blocking- sabotaging my efforts.

And now here I am, a Medicine Woman… who entered this Andean world thinking I was going to get to know nature by travelling a bit with the beautiful Q’ero Indians of Peru. Of course, I have gotten to know nature (deeply ) – but importantly, about Pachamama, who she really is! – and the huge part she plays in our lives. She provides us with sooo much sustenance and nurturing that we live with daily. We so unconsciously take and receive-  and never say thank you.

But of course in the world of the Andes Mountains, the communities know the value of appreciation and recognise the need to say thank you, to build relationship and reciprocity with the living Universe we are part of. That it can lead to manifesting crops, food, whatever it is that we each need in our lives. Making this a very powerful form of manifestation.

There are a few types of gratitude rituals I have learnt from them around this topic of appreciation, but the most important one only comes once a year! A very specific date and time.
